Work with State Agencies and Programs
Olympic Park Institute strives to maintain strong synergy between its educational programs and the academic requirements and philosophies of all our educational partners and specifically public education in Washington State.
Our staff has developed effective, ongoing relationships with schools and teachers throughout Washington State. We are also participating with the advisory council for E3 Washington, a new statewide initiative to develop a comprehensive environmental education plan. We also network with:
- Office of the Superintendent for Public Instruction
- Washington Science Teachers' Association
- Environmental Education Association of Washington
- Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools
Our field science programs meet state and national education standards, including:
- Grade level expectations.
- Washington State's Essential Academic Learning Requirements. (EALRs)
- Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) science test
Our programs equip young people with skills to improve their academic performance and their understanding of the links between science, nature, and society. The Olympic Park Institute experience provides the foundation for students to become engaged citizens and lifelong learners.
