Discussion question
- How did plate tectonics, erosion, glaciers, and other geologic processes affect the local area?
Observation activities
- Use a geologic map that includes local area. Recreate the local areas of the map. Identify rock types and nearby fault lines. Discuss possible affects of earthquakes or heavy flooding.
- Collect soil from different locations around your school. Compare amounts of organic matter, types of organisms, and differences in color, smell, and texture.
