About Olympic Park Institute
Olympic Park Institute is dedicated to teaching science and environmental education in nature's classroom to inspire a personal connection to the natural world and responsible actions to sustain it.
Our Programs
Our Impact
- Founded in 1987, each year Olympic Park Institute serves more than 3,700 young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Our educational programs are designed to support state education requirements and to develop tomorrow's community leaders.
- We are an official educational partner of the U.S. National Park Service through our parent organization Yosemite National Institutes.
Our Operations
- We provide scholarships to 30% of students participating in our youth programs.
- We have 30 employees.
Awards Received
- Olympic Park Institute, through its parent organization Yosemite National Institutes, received the 2004 California Governor's Award for Environmental and Economic Leadership.
Our Parent Organization
Founded in 1971, Yosemite National Institutes (YNI) provides environmental education opportunities and conference facilities in three national parks. In addition to Olympic Park Institute, YNI includes Headlands Institute near San Francisco and Yosemite Institute in Yosemite National Park.
