Yosemite National Institutes was founded on the idea of providing hands-on educational programs for school students in the National Parks. All 3 of our campuses feature our award-winning centerpiece program, Field Science Education.
Research shows that academic performance increases through experiential education. Our instruction is based in National Parks where nature and science can be explored first-hand. Our innovative and quality programs support state education standards and is guided by our core educational framework, which is routinely assessed so that the best and most current teaching methods are incorporated.
With windswept beaches, rolling hills, and a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Headlands Institutes setting in the Marin Headlands is the natural laboratory for Field Science Education participants. Subject emphases include:

Our founding campus, Yosemite Institute, was the inspiration for our Field Science Education program. The majesty of Half Dome, El Capitan, towering waterfalls, and giant ancient Sequoias inspire students K-12 towards a greater understanding of environmental issues, increased engagement in science, enhanced habits of lifelong learning, and improved group dynamics.
