Olympic Park Institute Foundations and Corporate Relations Officer, Northwest Region
This is a full-time position based in our administrative office in Downtown Seattle, near Pioneer Square.
Summary
This person will work, collaborate and coordinate closely with OPI's
Executive Director; the Development Officer, Northwest Region; the
Development and Marketing Team of Yosemite National Institutes and the
OPI Board of Directors. Responsibilities will include obtaining
approximately $200,000+ in grant funds annually.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop,
implement, and track comprehensive plan for foundation, corporate, and
government support; develop cultivation, solicitation and acknowledgement
strategies for all institutional donors.

Identify
all institutional giving prospects for the organization; conduct continued and
extensive prospecting for new sources of funding in the Northwest; match
funding opportunities with appropriate OPI programs and projects.

Plan,
compose, write and submit well-conceived, compelling letters of inquiry and
full grant proposals based on funders guidelines and program needs;

Develop
relationships with representative from granting agencies to familiarize them
with OPIs programs and activities; arrange meetings and site visits with
sponsors and OPIs Executive Director and/or program staff.

Prepare
monthly grant forecast and reports for YNI Foundation and Corporate Relations
Manager.

Prepare
and present quarterly and annual goals and revenue projections for fundraising
activities with the YNI Foundation and Corporate Relations Manager and the OPI
Executive Director to the OPI Board.

Maintain
development database regarding institution fundraising strategies and
activities including complete, up-to-date records of foundation, government and
corporate prospects and donors.

Ensure
proper, individualized stewardship/public relations activities for each
corporate, foundation or government donor; prepare grant reports to assure
compliance with grant requirements.

Make presentations to and coordinate follow-up
activities with corporate, foundation or government prospects and donors.

Work
with the OPI Boards Development Committee to facilitate their fundraising and
development efforts in regards to foundation, government and corporate
prospects and donors.

Work
as a team with other development staff in performing fundraising activities.

Requirements
The ideal candidate can demonstrate the following:
- Bachelors
degree in a relevant field;
- High
degree of self-initiative; demonstrated ability to make connections and build
relationships with potential funders and to represent the philosophy and
funding needs of the organization;
- Knowledge
of the philanthropic community in the Pacific Northwest;
- General
knowledge of the principles and practices of the development field;
- 3-5
years of development experience (preferably grantwriting/grant fund
management);
- Excellent
verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated
ability to write compelling funding requests;
- Familiarity with, and passion for, the
environment and connecting people with nature.
