In August 2007, Cheryl Jennings and the ABC 7 news team made a visit to Coastal Camp to report on Angele Williams, the 13-year-old Marin county girl who had raised a large amount of money for the camp's scholarship fund. She 
raised over $5000 in 3 months with a letter writing campaign and sales of homemade candies to community members, friends, and family. Williams and Coastal Camp worked with Performing Stars of Marin to choose scholarship recipients.

Marin Magazine
The October 2007 Marin Magazine edition featured a story on Headlands Institute's environmental education program for K-12 students offered during the school year. Many of the educators from 
Headlands Institute's school program join Coastal Camp's staff each summer to offer extensive experience working with children and a deep knowledge of the surrounding location.
