Headlands Institute is a Park Partner of the National Park Service and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the park in which the institute resides. This public-private partnership enables both organizations to:

The Marine Mammal Center

Marine Educational Partner

Founded in 1975, The Marine Mammal Center (TMMC) is a nonprofit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and releases injured, sick, and orphaned marine mammals. Coastal Camp and TMMC's unique educational partnership supports activities designed to:

During Extreme Marine Team, campers will work with TMMC marine mammal specialist to help rescue and rehabilitate a simulated stranded seal on Rodeo Beach and explore whale specimens, baleen, teeth, and bones in TMMC science lab.

During Eco Quest 08, campers will dissect a herring with the help of the experts at TMMC.
