Make your visit to the Marin Headlands even more memorable by taking in one of the many historic, beautiful, and natural local attractions in the park. the Marin Headlands Visitor Center to get current information on park trails, conditions, and safety.
Point Bonita Lighthouse: The third oldest lighthouse on the West Coast, Point Bonita is still active and serves ships entering the Golden Gate. The lighthouse is reached by a half-mile trail and is open to the public Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
The Marine Mammal Center: This non-profit organization rescues, rehabilitates, and releases more distressed marine mammals than any organization in the world. It also carries out education programs and research on its campus in the Marin Headlands. Plan a trip to the visitor center, open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily.
Miwok Stables: Enjoy horseback riding lessons in the Marin Headlands. Visit site for lesson schedules and prices for adults and kids.
Marin Headlands Visitor Center: Learn about the history of the Marin Headlands from the Miwok Indians to the Military. Open daily 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Headlands Center for the Arts: Through artists' residencies and public programs, it offers opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and exchange that build understanding and appreciation for the role of art in society. Visit site for information on upcoming programs.
Nike Missile Site: This valuable historical resource is the only restored Nike missile site in the entire country. Open Wednesday through Friday 12:30 p.m - 3:30 p.m.
